Sub-sector and thematic resources

This section contains DFAT learning modules and papers on education-related sub-sectors. Please note as the learning modules are primarily designed for DFAT staff there are references to DFAT processes, resources and terminologies. Most of the referred resources are or will be available on this site. The learning modules are at two levels: Foundation and Practitioner. The learning levels refer to participants' stage of learning or level of prior knowledge. They do not necessarily correlate with work level or recognised qualification. As per the definition used by the DFAT Diplomatic Academy:

  • Foundation level provides the fundamental skills and knowledge required by a participant and open to anyone who needs to acquire a solid foundation in a new area.
  • Practitioner level provides the in-depth knowledge and skills required by people working on specific topics, regions or tradecraft areas and best suited to participants wishing to enhance their skills.
