Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program
The Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP), established in 1982, links youth (21-25 years old) in Australia and Indonesia through social, professional, and cultural exchange. It is a chance for participants to grow their intercultural skills, professional experiences, and international networks.
This year, in response to the restrictions caused by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), AIYEP2021 will again be offered as a special edition virtual program hosted by Value Learning, following the incredible success of AIYEP2020 as our virtual pilot.
This exciting program is an opportunity for eighteen Indonesians and eighteen Australians to share seven weeks (November to January) engaging with each other, alumni and others who hold influence and experience in the Australia-Indonesia academic, business, community and diplomatic world.
During the program participants will undertake virtual work experience, enjoy educational and cultural performances, hear from high-level guest speakers and work collaboratively on a project of relevance to themselves and to the bilateral relationship.
The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), is Patron of the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program.
Then Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, said: "The Governor-General's Patronage of the AIYEP and AIMEP reflects the close relationship between Australia and Indonesia, and his longstanding interest in supporting engagement between our two countries."
The Governor-General's address can be found on the Minister for Foreign Affairs twitter page.
