Development

This report contains the findings of the independent end-of-program evaluation of the Australia Awards and Alumni Engagement Program-Philippines (AAAEP-P), an eight-year (FY 2018–2026), $31 million program that offers scholarships, short courses, local scholarships, and alumni engagement activities to achieve shared development goals between Australia and the Philippines.

DFAT will be holding the Fiji Big Meet on Wednesday, 30 July 2025, 8.30am – 3:00pm at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva, Fiji.

The purpose of the independent mid-term review was to assess the effectiveness of program implementation and achievements under SPRINT IV, and to provide recommendations to inform future investment and program design.

Australia's assistance to Solomon Islands contributes directly to enhancing Solomon Islands' inclusive economic growth, infrastructure and job creation. These are all priorities of the Solomon Islands Government.

Australia will enhance Solomon Islands' resilience to shocks through our investments in education, health, gender equality and disability inclusion, and community partnerships.

Australia will continue our enduring partnership with Solomon Islands to strength public institutions, improve stability, security and resilience to disasters and climate change. This will enable Solomon Islands to grow its economy and improve the livelihoods and wellbeing of its people.

The Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Tanks Network (‘Mekong Think Tanks’) Program aims to strengthen the role and effectiveness of research organisations to conduct locally led research and policy dialogues on important water and climate issues in the Mekong subregion.

The Australia – Solomon Islands Development Partnership Plan 2024–2029 (DPP) translates into action the development partnership priorities Australia shares with Solomon Islands. 

DFAT will shortly approach the market around August/September 2025 for a contractor to carry out an Independent Strategic Review. This procurement will be conducted through a one-step procurement process (a Request for Tender), which will be publicly advertised on the AusTender website when it is released to the market.
