Summary
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Program in Crisis and Post-Crisis Settings (SPRINT IV), delivered by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), is a humanitarian partnership that focuses on preparedness and emergency response for sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence services for crisis-affected populations, predominantly in the Indo-Pacific region. The program is in its fourth phase, extending to December 2024 (SPRINT IV, $12.6m, 2022-2024).
The purpose of the independent mid-term review was to assess the effectiveness of program implementation and achievements under SPRINT IV, and to provide recommendations to inform future investment and program design.
The review produced 19 strategic and operational recommendations (17 for IPPF and 2 for DFAT). It confirmed the effectiveness of SPRINT IV efforts on the humanitarian preparedness and emergency response components of the program, and made recommendations for strengthening the advocacy component. The review also recommended the inclusion of specific indicators on the recovery of affected populations.
