Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Tanks Network

Summary of Publication

The Mekong Thought Leadership and Think Tanks Network (‘Mekong Think Tanks’) Program aims to strengthen the role and effectiveness of research organisations to conduct locally led research and policy dialogues on important water and climate issues in the Mekong subregion. It also aims to train promising young professionals, through research fellowships and knowledge events. Implemented by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), the investment (June 2022–October 2025) is funded under the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP).

The midterm evaluation provides an independent assessment of the program design and implementation. The primary focus is to take stock of the progress and evaluate where the program stands against its set targets in terms of expected outcomes, outputs and planned activities. The evaluation findings and recommendations were identified to support DFAT and SEI in improving program implementation, and ensure impact and sustainability.
