Vanuatu Women's Centre: Progress Report 7 (April to November 2010)

Summary of publication

Detailed report on work of the Vanuatu Women's Centre April-November 2010. It includes quantitative and qualitative information on progress during this period, for example: the Vanuatu Women's Centre provided counselling for 607 women, and information to 176 people; centre counsellors facilitated 47 Family Protection Orders and helped pay court fees for 79 claims for child maintenance and two restraining orders; Sanma and Tafea counselling centres helped over a thousand women with counselling, and facilitated another 58 Family Protection Orders; the Vanuatu Women's Centre reached almost 8,000 people with its community awareness activities including on national women's day, children's day and peace day; and it provided information to the police to set up a family protection unit on 25 Nove mber 2010 (International Day against Violence Against Women).
