Vanuatu Women's Centre: Annual Plan Year 5 (July 2011–June 2012)

Summary of publication

This is the fifth and final annual plan for the fifth funding phase for Vanuatu Women's Centre Program Against Violence Against Women which commenced in July 2007.

The annual plan highlights 21 priority activities for 2011-12, covering: ongoing counselling and legal assistance to clients (including island visits); a wide range of training activities (e.g. for counsellors at the Sanma, Tafea and Torba counselling centres, for anti-violence committee members, for male advocates and for other agencies working in justice and human rights); community awareness workshops; five national special events; finalisation and printing of the national survey on violence against women; new research on custom and violence against women; national conference in November 2011 to review progress and make future plans; continued lobbying to implement the family protection act, including distribution of a Bislama version; and project completion report for the current phase. The plan also includes preparations for the next phase e.g. concept paper preparation, and development of a proposal for new national premises.
