Minister Payne announces the appointment of Mr Mark Donovan as Australia’s next Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Mr Donovan will also be accredited to Bahrain, Oman and Yemen.
Mr Armitage is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Mr Armitage has most recently served as Australia’s Ambassador to Türkiye.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab country of the Middle East. It is bordered by Jordan and Iraq on the north and northeast, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates on the east, Oman on the southeast, and Yemen on the south.
