Recognising the breadth of the links and exchanges at all walks of life between Australia and Japan and wishing to promote deeper mutual understanding and cooperation across the diverse range of shared interests in the bilateral, regional and multilateral fields, the Governments of Australia and Japan, pursuant to the 1995 Joint Declaration on the Australia-Japan Partnership, are resolved to take the following actions:

The basis of relations between Australia and Japan shall be enduring peace and friendship between the two countries and their peoples.

Before 1961, Wallis and Futuna was a French protectorate, then a colony administered from New Caledonia. In 1961 it became a French overseas territory and in 2003 a French overseas collectivity. Wallis and Futuna is comprised of three main islands (Wallis, Futuna and Alofi) and a number of tiny islets.

Australia and Vietnam are strong partners with a commitment to ASEAN centrality and a shared vision for a region that is peaceful, stable and prosperous and where sovereignty is respected.

Australia and Vanuatu have a strong and enduring bilateral relationship, based on shared values and interests in a prosperous and stable region.

Uzbekistan is the most populous of the Central Asian republics, with a population of 30.8 million people. Uzbekistan's population has a high youth dividend: the median age is around 27 years and over a quarter of the population is under 14.

Australia and Uruguay established diplomatic relations in 1948.

The Australia–United States Ministerial Consultations (AUSMIN) is the principal forum for bilateral consultations with the United States. Held regularly, alternating between Australia and the United States, AUSMIN brings together the Australian Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Defence with the US Secretaries of State and War, along with senior officials from both portfolios.
