How to pay a DFAT Invoice
DFAT invoices can be paid using any of the following methods:
- Credit/Debit Card (Mastercard, Visa or AMEX)
- BPAY
- Direct Credit
- Cheque

How to pay by card
The link for paying invoice by credit card can be found on your tax invoice under ‘PAYMENT OPTIONS'.
Clicking on this link will take you to the DFAT online invoice payment form.
The DFAT online invoice payment form uses the Government EasyPay Online service provided by the Reserve Bank of Australia via their payment gateway service provider, Bambora Australia Pty Ltd.
Type of cards accepted
- Mastercard credit and debit cards
- Visa credit and debit cards
- AMEX cards
Payment value
The maximum payment amount is AUD $20,000.00.
Transaction receipt
Once payment is made successfully, a receipt will be issued.
The details will appear as “DFAT Australia” on your credit or debit card statement.
Processing times
Payments need to reach us on or before their due date.
You can use the DFAT online invoice payment form 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Payments will be processed the next business day if it is made:
- after 6 pm Sydney Australia Eastern Standard Time;
- on a weekend; or
- on a public holiday.
Unavailability of the service
The service may sometimes be unavailable due to technical issues or maintenance. If you need to make a payment during these periods, you should use an alternative payment method (BPAY, Direct Credit, Cheques).

Payment information that you enter when using this site is processed and stored in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). This Standard has been developed by the PCI Security Standards Council which is an open global forum responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection.
The information that you provide is protected through the use of Secured Socket Layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption. You will notice that the URL in your browser is "HTTPS" instead of "HTTP". The Reserve Bank of Australia (Reserve Bank) may request the provision of your email address (the Information) via our Government EasyPay card payment site in order to send you a copy of your payment receipt.
This Information is received by the Reserve Bank via our payment gateway service provider, Bambora Australia Pty Ltd.
The Information is of a kind which the Reserve Bank does not usually disclose to persons or organisations outside the Reserve Bank.
The Reserve Bank is unlikely to disclose the Information to overseas recipients.
Individuals are entitled under Australian privacy law in certain circumstances to access, and seek correction of, personal information about them held by the Reserve Bank.
