Australia will prohibit the import, purchase or transport of gold exported from Russia after 30 September 2022.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs intends to designate gold as an ‘import sanctioned good’ for Russia under subregulation 4A(3) of the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011.

Australia will prohibit the export of certain luxury goods to Russia from 7 April 2022.

Sanctions regimes currently implemented under Australian sanction law

DFAT gives notice to several listed persons, that the Minister will be considering whether these listings under section 15 of the Charter of the United Nations Act 1945 (Cth) will continue to have effect.

Australia prohibits the export of aluminium ores (including bauxite), alumina and related products to Russia from 20 March 2022.
