Summary
The Australia Partnership for Justice (ASIPJ), a four-year AUD20 million investment (2022-2025) with a potential for further extension, is supported by DFAT and implemented by a consortium comprising Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (Deloitte) (managing contractor and technical delivery), Adam Smith International (ASI) (operational and delivery), and Ninti One (Indigenous engagement). The partnership’s central aim is for Solomon Islands and Australia to work together to promote peace, safety, and socio-economic development by strengthening law and justice services.
The purpose of the mid-term review was to assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the program, and to make recommendations for the continuous improvement of Australia’s law and justice development assistance to Solomon Islands.
The review identified 17 strategic and operational recommendations, highlighting that the program is achieving its goals, creating sustainable outcomes, and positively impacting lives. The recommendations aim to maintain these successes and resolve any practical challenges. The review also emphasised the importance of aligning activities with each agency priorities to ensure consistent care and im-proved outcomes across the justice sector. DFAT agreed to these recommendations in its Management Response.
