Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about this grant round are available.

We anticipate that applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by December 2026.

The Australia-Indonesia Institute 2026-27 Grants Round will focus on the theme of ‘Indonesian capability and language’ and champion initiatives that explicitly aim to strengthen Australia’s national Indonesia capability. Indonesia capability refers to the knowledge, skills, experience, and networks that enable effective engagement with Indonesia.

Priority will be given to projects that can demonstrate how they improve Australia’s ability to engage with Indonesia by building cultural understanding and knowledge, Indonesian language skills, and sustainable networks across community, schools and universities.

Grant applications for a minimum of $50,000 to a maximum of $400,000 will be considered.  Guidance on the eligibility requirements, assessment criteria and application process and further details are available in the Grant Guidelines.
