Australia has provided more than 65,000 personnel to over 60 UN and other multilateral peace and security operations since 1947. We work closely with global and regional partners on strategic airlift and training and capacity building opportunities. We have partnered on guidelines for National Prevention Strategies because peace starts at home.
In 2025, the Australian Federal Police launched the world’s first UN-accredited police peacekeeping program by creating an innovative and sustainable training model for the Pacific region and Timor Leste. Pacific Police Peacekeepers have now deployed to the UN Mission in South Sudan.
