We support inclusive approaches that amplify all voices – including women, young people, First Nations peoples and those whose lives are most affected by instability and conflict.

Australia is a reliable, practical and transparent partner. We are a Pacific nation, ready to work across regions with equality and respect. We do not come with all the answers; we come ready to work together.
Today’s challenges are complex and interconnected: armed conflict, breaches of international law, climate change, economic inequality, humanitarian crises and the rapid development of new technologies. We must meet this moment together with ambition and true partnership anchored in agreed international rules and respect for sovereignty.
We protect
Living in peace should not depend on where you were born. Australia will work to protect people, reduce the risk of conflict and uphold international law.
The Council must reflect the experiences of all countries and ensure each can determine their own future. We will advocate for stronger early warning systems, preventive diplomacy, peacebuilding and improved adherence to humanitarian protections.
Australia knows that technologies are reshaping our lives. Many future threats to international peace and security will come across networks as well as borders. As new and emerging technologies evolve, we will too.
