Nepal is a landlocked Himalayan country in South Asia bordered by India and China. It has a population of 30 million and contains eight of the world's ten highest peaks, including Mount Everest the highest mountain in the world. Kathmandu is its capital and largest city.

Nauru is an island republic in the Pacific Ocean, 42 kilometres south of the equator and 4,000 kilometres northeast of Sydney. A raised, fossilised coral atoll, Nauru is one of three great phosphate rock islands in the Pacific Ocean – the other two being Banaba (Ocean Island) in Kiribati and Makatea in French Polynesia.

Australia and Montenegro enjoy cooperative diplomatic relations underpinned by people-to-people links. There is a small Montenegrin community in Australia. Australia and Montenegro engage in international organisations on matters of shared interest.

Australia enjoys warm and friendly relations with Moldova, with both countries actively participating in a range of multilateral forums.

Australia and Mexico established diplomatic relations in 1966. Australia has an Embassy in Mexico City and a Consulate in Cancún.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is located in the western Pacific Ocean, half way between Hawaii and Australia, north of the equator and west of the International Date Line.

Australia and Malta continue to enjoy a strong and enduring bilateral relationship, underpinned by deep people-to-people links and shared values.

Australia and Maldives share a commitment to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indian Ocean region. We established bilateral relations in 1974 and in 2024 mark 50 years of diplomatic ties. Australia opened its High Commission in Malé in 2023. 

Australia and Malaysia are longstanding partners and friends. In 2025 we will marks 70 years of Australia's diplomatic presence in Malaysia. Our relationship is based on mutual respect and our common interests, shared history and strong community links.
