Australia is committed to working in partnership with the Government of Samoa and local civil society organisations to advance human development and support all Samoans to have long, healthy and fulfilling lives.

Australia is working closely with the Government of Samoa and the business community to actively support measures that facilitate decent work and economic empowerment, nurture an enabling business environment and stimulate long-term recovery and resilience.

The Australia Awards provides Samoans with opportunities for tertiary study locally, and in Australia, and fosters people-to-people linkages. The program works in collaboration with Samoa’s Public Service Commission to ensure that scholarships on offer align with Samoa’s human resource capacity needs.

Samoa also benefits from non-ongoing COVID-19 response measures. Funding from these measures will be included in actual figures published in the relevant Australia's Official Development Assistance: Statistical Summary.
