The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter "MOU") is to advance the partnership on development cooperation between the Participant.

Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Tim Watts, will travel to the Republic of Korea (ROK) to represent Australia at the third Summit for Democracy.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Penny Wong, has announced the Australia-Korea Foundation grant recipients for 2023-24. These grants strengthen collaboration between Australia and the Republic of Korea by advancing our shared political, economic, and social interests.

The Australian Government has appointed Dr Pippa Dickson and Dr Peter K. Lee to the board of the Australia-Korea Foundation. They both bring diverse experience and unique perspectives to support the objectives of the foundation and enrich Australia's relationship with the Republic of Korea.

Cooperation on climate change, support for women’s leadership and education partnerships are among projects awarded grants by the Australia-Korea Foundation, the Australia-Japan Foundation, and the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations.

Today in Seoul Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell, met with the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Minister for Trade, Dr Ahn Dukgeun, for the inaugural Australia-ROK Trade Ministers’ Meeting under our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell will travel to Japan and the Republic of Korea to strengthen our trade ties, promote Australia as a renewable energy superpower and discuss cooperation on economic security.

On 25 August, Australia and the Republic of Korea (ROK) held the second Australia-ROK Indo-Pacific Dialogue in Canberra. The Indo-Pacific Dialogue is a key part of Australia-ROK cooperation to support a peaceful, prosperous, and secure region, respectful of international rules and sovereignty.
