An Independent Progress Review (IPR) was commissioned to assess the performance of the Coalitions for Change Program (Phase 2) against its objectives and the program’s continuing relevance including its operational arrangements, in the context of the Philippines’ advanced middle-income status and the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (MAMPU) was an 8-year program ($110.8m) with two 4-year phases. MAMPU aimed to improve Indonesian women’s access to essential services and other government programs in order to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment and support the achievement of relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) is a ten-year Facility that supports the Government of Indonesia’s goal of sustainable and inclusive growth through improved access to quality infrastructure for all people. KIAT provides technical assistance and advisory services to improve infrastructure policy, planning and delivery in response to agreed priorities.

BANGGA Papua (Building the Welfare of Papuan Generations and Families) is a universal child grant program, initiated by the Papua Provincial Government using its Special Autonomy (Otonomi Khusus, Otsus) Fund. Australia’s KOMPAK and MAHKOTA development assistance programs supported the development and implementation of the program.

The DFAT-funded program Towards a Strong and Prosperous Indonesian Society (MAHKOTA) commissioned an evaluation to investigate, document, and communicate its contribution to the development and content of supporting government regulations to the National Disability Law (Law No. 8/2016), specifically the government regulation (peraturan pemerintah: PP) on the provision of social welfare (PP. No.52/2019 for people with disability and the PP on the provision of habilitation and rehabilitation services for people with disability (PP. no.70/2020).

Australia’s role as a leading development partner in the Indo-Pacific region has been recognised in the Centre for Global Development’s 2021 Commitment to Development Index.

Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) Bangladesh is implementing DFAT supported ‘Skills for Economic Growth and Prosperity’ investment in Bangladesh.

The Regional Humanitarian Strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan (‘the Strategy’) provides a strategic policy overview to guide Australia’s humanitarian engagement and investments in Afghanistan and Pakistan from 2021 to 2024.

The independent evaluation of the Niue development program aimed to determine the impact of Australia’s development assistance to Niue under the Delegated Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with New Zealand from 2014 to 2021 and to inform the future direction of Australian development assistance to Niue.

DFAT will reflect the evaluation findings and recommendations in our future planning for Australian development initiatives in Niue.

DFAT and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) commissioned an independent joint review of its Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF) 2016-20 and 2021 extension (SPF 2016-21) to assess the partnership performance and arrangements over the period and to provide recommendations to inform the next SPF 2022-25.
