Nauru, Kiribati, Tuvalu Education (NKTE)

DFAT has a requirement for a Contractor to manage the implementation of new phases of Australian support for education in Nauru and Tuvalu. Both programs are anticipated to start in early 2022 and run for up to ten years (5 year initial term + 5 year extension option).

The Nauru Education program will aim to support inclusive and equitable education pathways that develop locally and regionally relevant knowledge and skills. The program will focus on four streams of work: student-centred learning and community engagement; secondary education relevance and pathways; strengthening education sector systems; and targeted disability and gender inclusion activities.

The Tuvalu and Australia Partnership for Quality Education (TAPQE), currently under design, will aim to enhance the relevance and quality of education and training pathways. Indicative outcomes include improved literacy and numeracy outcomes; improved relevance and quality of secondary school teaching and student pathways; and strengthened education systems.

It is anticipated that the Contractor will also be required to implement education activities in Kiribati in future, including initiatives involving collaboration with partners in Nauru and Tuvalu; supporting joint partnerships with Australian and regional education organisations; performance monitoring and reporting; and knowledge brokering in education-related program and policy issues across Kiribati, Nauru, Tuvalu.

It is anticipated that the Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) DFAT-346 will be issued in November 2021 via AusTender ( Please refer to AusTender for further information on the procurement.
