Australia is committed to working in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports by building on the success of Basic Education and Quality Access program Phase 1 with a second phase – aiming to support the Ministry to respond to the learning crisis challenge especially to improve primary student learning outcomes.

An Independent Review assessed the performance of the Pacific Research Program, a five-year (2017-2022) $28.25 million investment in Pacific research delivered by the Australian National University and the Lowy Institute.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, the Hon Richard Marles MP will lead the Australian delegation attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting between 23-26 June, in Kigali, Rwanda. Deputy Prime Minister Marles will be joined by the Hon Pat Conroy MP, who will be undertaking his first overseas visit as Minister for International Development and the Pacific.

The evaluation assesses the program’s progress against its end of program outcomes, with a focus on the effectiveness and efficiency of the program and the sustainability of its outcomes. The evaluation identified a range of findings that have informed recommendations for the current program and the design for the next phase of the program.

Through investment in knowledge sector actors and institutions and their interactions within the knowledge ecosystem in Indonesia, KSI succeeded in achieving all 5 of its End-of-Program Outcomes.
