Australia sees ASEAN at the centre of a peaceful, stable and prosperous region, where sovereignty is respected, and all countries benefit from strategic balance.

The Knowledge and Linkages for an Inclusive Economy (KLIE) Grant Program supports partnerships between Sri Lankan and Australian government agencies, research institutions, civil society and professional networks. Close to AUD 4.1 million in grants has been committed since 2018.

This report is based on the second round of a quantitative survey conducted in February-March 2021 on COVID-19 Impacts on People with Disabilities in Indonesia. Data collection was led by the Organisation for People with Disabilities (OPD) Network for More Inclusive COVID-19 Response, with support from the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), and the Australian Government through two development cooperation programs, Towards a Strong and Prosperous Indonesian Society (MAHKOTA) and the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice (AIPJ2).

The security of Australia and the ROK is tied to the stability, openness, and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific and a rules-based international order that protects the rights and sovereignty of states regardless of size or power.

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter referred to as the “MoU”) is to deepen existing socio-cultural cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Australia, and to commit the Participants to explore new initiatives.

On 13 September 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Eui-yong, and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, Suh Wook, hosted the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, and the Australian Minister for Defence, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, in Seoul for the fifth Foreign and Defence.

Australia's economic engagement with India is underpinned by the India Economic Strategy (IES), which was authored by Mr Peter Varghese, former Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2012-2016) and High Commissioner to India (2009-2012). The IES was presented as an independent report to the Australian Government in July 2018. In November 2018, the Australian Government released its response to the IES setting out an initial implementation plan.

A successful partnership between the Australian Government, Papua New Guinea’s Department of Health and Australian company Seqirus has been extended by two years to 2023, having helped to save more than 500 lives over the last three years.
