The Vietnam Australia Centre (VAC), established in 2022 and funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) under the Aus4Skills Phase 2 initiative, serves as a flagship platform to enhance bilateral leadership capacities, foster policy innovation, and deepen ties between Australia and Vietnam. VAC directly supports both nations’ strategic agendas, particularly Australia’s International Development Policy and Vietnam’s long-term reform vision toward 2045.
This independent Review provides an in-depth assessment of VAC’s progress over its first three years and examines whether its design remains fit for purpose and aligned with the strategic priorities of Vietnam and Australia. Focusing on two key criteria – Relevance and Effectiveness – the Review identifies lessons learned that may inform VAC’s strategy and implementation for its next phase (2027-2035).
