Nauru Support Services Program Investment Review and Management Response

Summary of publication

This document details the January 2025 Independent mid-term review of the Nauru Support Services (NSS) Program.

The review, which covers the period from 2017 to 2025, assesses the investment of approximately $35 million under the Australian bilateral development program.

The objectives of the services provided through NSS as defined in the Deed are to provide cost effective:

  • support services to specific standards for deployees and their families, to enable the deployees to work effectively and reside safely in Nauru
  • support services to specific standards for deployees and their families, to enable the deployees engaged for ad-hoc tasks to work effectively and reside safely in Nauru
  • support services to the Australian High Commission office and residential complex through provision of maintenance and security services
  • logistics and procurement services for the Australian High Commission, Nauru when requested.

The review supports DFAT's improved performance and strategic planning, under the wider Australian development program.

The review was undertaken by an independent evaluator and was conducted in consideration of DFAT’s Monitoring and Evaluation Standard 9.
