The Australia-Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP) is the main facility under which Australia delivers economic development support to PNG. APEP is an eight-year (4+4) AU$200 million investment with an implementation period from 2022-2030. Phase 1 is currently due to finish in February 2026.
The independent mid-term review aimed to facilitate program improvement and included an assessment of the program’s effectiveness and the efficiency of program management arrangements. The report contained nine high-level recommendations for APEP to inform future direction of the facility which are covered in the management response document below.
