The Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Education Minister Christopher
Pyne have announced the 69 talented undergraduate students who have been
awarded prestigious New Colombo Plan scholarships to live, study and
work in the region in 2015.
Each year the highest ranked scholar in each host location is named a New Colombo Plan Fellow. The 2015 Fellows are:
- Brunei: Alana Tolman, from the Australian National University
- Cambodia: Hannah John, from the University of Sydney
- China: Scott Gigante, from the University of Melbourne
- Fiji: Asher Taccori, from the University of Wollongong
- Hong Kong: Sarah Griffin, from Griffith University
- India: Zoe Brereton, from the University of Queensland
- Indonesia: Harrison Hall, from the University of Wollongong
- Japan: James Lawler, from the University of Adelaide
- Malaysia: Tyce Barton, from the University of New South Wales
- Mongolia: Mark Pennini, from the Australian National University
- Nepal: Samuel Williams, from Monash University
- Philippines: Emily Pritchard, from RMIT University
- Republic of Korea: Michelle Howie, from the University of South Australia
- Singapore: James Panarettos, from the University of Western Australia
- Taiwan: Rose Vassel, from the University of New South Wales
- Thailand: David Coleman, from the University of Sydney
- Vanuatu: Emily Forsyth, from the University of Tasmania
