AJF 50th Anniversary Grant

The application period for the AJF 50th Anniversary Grant is now closed.

This grant opportunity commemorates the significant milestones of the 50th anniversaries of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Australia and Japan and the establishment of the AJF.

We look forward to impactful events and activities that honour the legacy of Australia-Japan relations, and inspire future collaboration and mutual understanding.

Timeline for grant round

  • Opening date – 2pm (AEDT) 10 December 2025
  • Deadline for submitting applications – 2pm (AEDT) 10 February 2026
  • Applicants notified of outcome – April 2026
  • Earliest start date of grant activity – Late April-May 2026
  • Latest start date of grant activity – 30 June 2026

Successful applications must commence their project before 30 June 2026. As this round focuses on the 50th anniversary in 2026, the main activity must take place during 2026.
