Australia has a long history of providing aid to support agricultural development in Cambodia. In recent years, support has been primarily provided through the Cambodia Agricultural Value Chain program (CAVAC 2010-2015). CAVAC was the first market development program funded by the Australian aid program, and was a new approach to agricultural programming in Cambodia. At conclusion, CAVAC will have helped improve the productivity of over 264,000 poor farming households.
This investment design presents a plan for a six-year second phase of support over 2016-2021. This proposed Phase II of CAVAC has the objective to increase the productivity and incomes of small farmers and trade in milled rice and other crops by strengthening market systems and investing in irrigation infrastructure.
Attached is the investment design. Publication of the Request For Tender (RFT) is imminent, and potential bidders should watch AusTender for release.
DFAT thanks you for your interest in the Australian Aid Program.
