In April 2011, Uruzgan Governor Omar Shirzad launched the Uruzgan Provincial Development Plan for the year 1390 (starting March 2011). This is the most comprehensive development plan produced by the Uruzgan Government to date and sets out the development priorities for the province over the next 12 months, including road infrastructure, municipality development, vocational training and agriculture. Australian Development Advisers in the PRT and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) helped the provincial government to develop the plan through consultations with village and district councils, line departments and NGOs.
