Quality at Entry—Water and Sanitation Initiative South Asia (includes Nepal) August 2009

Summary

This document reports on quality processes and next steps in finalising the design for the South Asia Water and Sanitation Support Program. (2009, 4pp)

Description

This document reports on quality processes and next steps in finalising the design for the South Asia Water and Sanitation Program. The report reveals that the program meets AusAID's quality processes. It confirms reviewers approve of the approach but notes the risk to the sustainability of NEWAH's water and sanitation activities due to withdrawal of DFID funding to the sector in Nepal.

The report recommends that, in developing its implementation plan, NEWAH include securing additional funding from other sources to support activities beyond the WSI framework. The report also recommends that a performance framework needs to be developed to show how links to monitoring and evaluation information from partner agencies will meet AusAID's quality processes.
