Summary of publication

This report summarises progress in Australia's aid program to Nauru from July 2013 to June 2014.

Nauru has experienced significant economic growth in 2013, with its budget growing from $27 million in 2010-11 to $99 million in 2013-14 and the country achieving almost full employment in 2012-13. The Australian aid program has helped Nauru pursue its development priorities, with some positive outcomes in 2013-14, in particular in public sector management and education. However, there have been some challenges over the period that has slowed progress compared to previous years. The findings of this report will be used to shape the direction of Australia's development assistance to Nauru in the future.
