Description

In 2011 the Australian Government partnered with 18 eligible Australian NGOs and two eligible Australian UN appeals pledging to match dollar-for-dollar funds raised from the Australian community, in order to invigorate public awareness and public giving to Australian NGO Emergency Appeals for the Horn of Africa. The appeal was open from 5 October until 30 November and raised $13.55 million to be programmed in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia between 1 January 2012 and July 2013. This document outlines the rationale and key features for the Horn of Africa Dollar for Dollar initiative.
