Tasmania State Office
Passports, document legalisations (apostille and authentications) and Certificates of No Impediment to Marriage for Tasmania are provided through the Hobart Passport Office at Level 1, 111 Macquarie Street, Hobart.
The Tasmania State Office helps DFAT to maintain strong linkages with the community. We provide a range of services in support of our Portfolio Ministers and Parliamentary Secretary, and participate in international relations and trade with business, academia and NGOs.
We assist the Tasmanian Government in its overseas endeavours and assist the general public with consular services as required.
We also make sure that the Australian Government is in touch with the needs of Tasmanian businesses and industry by encouraging trade links, promoting trade liberalisation (including bilateral and multilateral trade agreements) and facilitating participation on trade missions.
We can arrange for someone from the department or our office to address your school, business, organisation or community group on foreign policy, trade negotiations, consular services and careers in the department. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and follow us on Twitter @DFATTas
Economic diplomacy is a key priority for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Charter on Economic Diplomacy and Australian Business outlines the services the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio provides to business. The department also maintains a business engagement page with useful information, resources and updates for business.
The Tasmania State Office plays a key role in delivering economic diplomacy in Tasmania in close consultation with business and the Tasmanian State Government.
DFAT provides information on the international trade environment to exporters including publications on Australia, Australian foreign and trade policies and the economic and political climate in other countries.
DFAT recruits both graduates and non-graduates for a range of positions. The Department offers a varied and challenging career advancing Australia's international political, economic, consular and security interests.
