DFAT intends to approach the market for education (academic and welfare) services to implement the Australia Awards Scholarships. It is estimated that DFAT will spend over $160 million this financial year on similar services from 40+ Australian tertiary education institutions.
For further information, see the summary of the partnership, the Scholarships Policy Handbook which outlines the roles and responsibilities of each party, and the Australia Awards Global Strategic Framework.
The tender will result in multiple institutions being awarded contracts. To be eligible to tender, institutions will need to be registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
DFAT anticipates the approach to market will be a one-step procurement process (a Request for Tender) published on austender.gov.au.
