The Australia Awards provides Samoans with opportunities for tertiary study locally, and in Australia, and fosters people-to-people linkages. The program works in collaboration with Samoa’s Public Service Commission to ensure that scholarships on offer align with Samoa’s human resource capacity needs.

The Australia Awards provide opportunities for I-Kiribati students to study at tertiary institutions in Australia and the Pacific. The awards enable students to gain the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to their and Kiribati's development.

Australia supports high-quality, affordable and sustainable infrastructure and capacity building with a focus on long-term development and economic outcomes, climate resilience, local content and sustainable financing.

Vanuatu also benefits from non-ongoing COVID-19 response measures. Funding from these measures will be included in actual figures published in the relevant Australia's Official Development Assistance: Statistical Summary.

Australia’s partnership with Tonga is anchored in shared values, respect, and mutual benefit. The Tongan values of Feveitokai’aki (sharing and cooperating), Falala’anga (trust), and Fefaka’apa’apa’aki (mutual respect) characterise and guide our partnership.

Investing in education outcomes for all children and youth across the Pacific has been a long-standing objective of Australia's development program. In the Pacific, Australia's bilateral and multilateral investments have a strong focus on basic education, including early literacy and numeracy development. 

As a founding member of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Australia is committed to working with the Pacific – and through the Pacific's regional architecture – to navigate shared challenges and safeguard our collective peace, stability and prosperity.
