Information on the Australia-Korea Foundation 2026-2027 Grant Round

The Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) advances people-to-people and institutional links between Australia and Japan through programs and partnerships aligned with the Australian Government's priorities.

The Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF) was established by the Australian Government in 1992 to promote bilateral relations between Korea and Australia.

The United States is the largest and most significant investor in Australia, with investment in Australia standing at $929 billion in 2020. The United States is also by far Australia's largest foreign investment destination, with investment in the US standing at $864 billion in 2020. Two-way investment has almost tripled since the Agreement came into force.

The Australia–United States Ministerial Consultations (AUSMIN) is the principal forum for bilateral consultations with the United States. Held regularly, alternating between Australia and the United States, AUSMIN brings together the Australian Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Defence with the US Secretaries of State and War, along with senior officials from both portfolios.

Australia and the Republic of Korea (ROK, also known as South Korea) are comprehensive strategic partners with a strong bilateral relationship underpinned by shared strategic interests, complementary economies and strong people-to-people links.
