Geostrategy and Partnerships (GPD)

The Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) strategy builds on a half century of investment by the Foundation and the Australian Embassy in Japan. In the context of evolving geo-strategic, economic, environmental and social circumstances the AJF supports long-term cooperation and exchange in a range of sectors.

The report, which focuses primarily on unlawful DPRK-Russia military cooperation including arms transfers and Russia’s training of DPRK troops, consolidates information provided by MSMT participating states on violations and evasions of sanction measures stipulated in relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs). The report also contains information provided by open source intelligence organizations.

The Korea Australia Future Forum (KAFF) is a 1.5 track dialogue between Australian and Republic of Korea (ROK) representatives from government, academia and industry.

On 3 July, senior officials from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Department of State met by videoconference to review progress on initiatives agreed by Quad leaders at the 2023 Summit in Hiroshima.
