Australia and the Slovak Republic (also known as Slovakia) established diplomatic relations upon the foundation of the Slovak Republic in 1993 and share friendly relations.

Australia and Singapore have a strong and vibrant relationship. Australia was the second country to recognise Singapore when it became an independent nation in 1965. In 2015, Australia and Singapore established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), which encompasses all aspects of our relationship including trade, defence, science and innovation, education and the arts, digital economy and green economy. A refreshed Partnership which is expected to run from 2025 to 2035 is currently being discussed.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab country of the Middle East. It is bordered by Jordan and Iraq on the north and northeast, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates on the east, Oman on the southeast, and Yemen on the south.

Australia and San Marino established formal diplomatic relations in 1995, with accreditation through the Australian Embassy in Rome. San Marino has had an Honorary Consul-General in Australia, based in Victoria, since 2007. In recognition of the growing relationship between Australia and San Marino, a bilateral Tax Information Exchange Agreement was signed in 2010.

Samoa is a Polynesian country northeast of Fiji. Samoa consists of four inhabited and a number of smaller, uninhabited islands.

The Australian Government has limited all bilateral cooperation with Russia since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Australia only engages bilaterally with Russia when it is critical to delivering on our national interests, such as safety of Australian citizens, security and ongoing operations of our diplomatic presence in Russia.

Australia and Romania established diplomatic relations in 1968, marking 55 years of bilateral relations in 2023. The relationship between Australia and Romania is built on community ties and a like-minded approach to a range of global issues, including international security, cyber, disarmament, non-proliferation and international criminal law.

Australia and Poland established diplomatic ties in 1972. Abiding community, commercial and academic links underpin a warm bilateral relationship characterised by shared democratic values and support for agreed international rules and norms.

Since 1946, Australia and the Philippines have worked together to ensure a close partnership grounded in a commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in our region.
