On 18-22 November, nine New Colombo Plan (NCP) scholars visited Kuala Lumpur to attend the ASEAN+ Young Leaders Summit (AYLS) and a business function hosted by the Australian High Commission.

Ms Sharfah Mohammed, from Macquarie University, was a New Colombo Plan 2014 Singapore scholar and addressed guests on behalf of NCP alumni. 

One hundred of Australia’s best and brightest undergraduates have been awarded New Colombo Plan 2016 scholarships to live, study and intern in the Indo-Pacific.

The New Colombo Plan Alumni Program supports alumni to maintain a connection to each other, the New Colombo Plan and the Indo-Pacific region as they progress in their lives and careers.

The New Colombo Plan is supporting University of Wollongong Nutrition and Dietetics student Asher Taccori to intern with the United Nations World Food Programme regional bureau in Thailand.

A number of New Colombo Plan alumni attended the Scholarship Presentation Dinner.

New Colombo Plan 2016 scholars attended a two-day program of pre-departure training in Canberra in December 2015.

La Trobe University students recently took part in the world's largest nanotechnology exhibition – Nano Tech 2015 – in Japan as part of a New Colombo Plan mobility grant.
