The UN General Assembly adopted by a historic majority of almost two thirds a resolution that unequivocally calls for all countries to establish a moratorium on executions with a view to abolishing the death penalty.

Almost 30 years after the adoption of the Vienna Declaration, we take this opportunity to reaffirm the commitment made at that time by the international community to achieve the full respect of the equal condition and human rights of women.
