The WPS Agenda remains as relevant now as it was 20 years ago. We commend the critical role women are playing as frontline responders as we work together against COVID-19.

Australia commends the Republic of the Marshall Islands on its efforts to strengthen human rights since the last review, including work to address domestic and family violence.

We commend the United States for its longstanding leadership in shaping and protecting international human rights, including those developed in the decades since the conclusion of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Australia commends Bulgaria on steps it has taken to protect and promote human rights since its last review, including A-status accreditation for its Ombudsman. Australia also welcomes Bulgaria’s efforts to address obstacles to the effective prosecution of crime and corruption cases.

Australia commends Andorra on its strong commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights. Australia welcomes the creation of Andorra’s National Commission for the Prevention of Gender-based and Domestic Violence (CONPVGD) in 2015. Australia commends Andorra’s ratification of the UNESCO Convention against Discrimination in Education in March 2018.

Australia notes Honduras’ human rights challenges and welcomes its engagement in the UPR process and efforts to strengthen its human rights framework, including by creating the National Protection Mechanism and the Special Prosecutor's Office for Human Rights Defenders, Journalists, Social Communicators and Justice Officials.
