A peaceful and non-violent resolution of the crisis and return to democracy is a matter of urgency.

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples affirms economic rights for indigenous peoples. The interconnected nature of the global economy, however, means that these economic rights will not be realised unless Member States take collective action to eliminate trade and investment barriers, promote cross-border economic activity, and increase market access for indigenous businesses.

Over the few last decades, around the world, as a consequence of various social, cultural, legal, political, and scientific changes, there has been an increased recognition of diverse and various forms of families that go beyond the so-called “traditional model” - of a mother, a father and biological children.

One year ago, in this same debate, 37 States highlighted that it is high time for the Council to address human rights violations and abuses against intersex persons.

Australia remains a steadfast supporter of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
