Development assistance

This independent assessment reviews the performance of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development of Solomon Islands performance against the 2016 Education Sector Program 2 performance indicators. The findings form the basis of Australia's Performance Linked Funding to the Ministry.

This independent mid-term review assessed the relevance, efficiency and effectiveness of the Solomon Islands Growth Program (SIGP) as a consolidated program of activities. The findings will inform Australia's current and future programming in the Solomon Islands' economic growth sector. A Management Response will be published by the end of January 2019.

The Australia-World Bank Indonesia Partnership (ABIP) is a 5-year, AUD30 million investment (2020-2024) initiated as a single-donor programmatic trust fund with the World Bank in Indonesia. It provides a range of information at the aggregate level of where Australia’s development program was delivered and the type of official development assistance (ODA) that was delivered.

Since 2006, the Government of Australia (GoA) has made considerable investments in Indonesia’s basic education sector across a range of programs. In 2016, Australia shifted its education support from increasing access to improving quality, with a particular focus on accelerating the improvement of students’ learning outcomes in foundational skills (literacy, numeracy and critical thinking).

The Knowledge and Linkages for an Inclusive Economy (KLIE) Grant Program supports partnerships between Sri Lankan and Australian government agencies, research institutions, civil society and professional networks. Close to AUD 4.1 million in grants has been committed since 2018.

At the Government's request, DFAT is leading a review into new forms of development finance to support Australia's foreign policy, trade, security and development objectives and help countries in our region achieve their development and climate objectives.
