UN Joint Programme on Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Southeast Asia

Summary of publication

The UN Joint Programme on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention (2024-2029) USD 5 million, which commenced on 1 June 2024, is a UNFPA and UN Women partnership that will support and complement DFAT’s new flagship initiative, the Southeast Asia GBV Prevention Platform.

The Joint Programme will leverage existing UN agency networks and programs to underpin and support the Platform, providing a foundation upon which the Platform can advance coordinated action on primary prevention. The Joint Programme and Platform work together – as the Prevention Collective – towards a joint vision and objective for GBV prevention in Southeast Asia. The design attached outlines the proposed approach in Southeast Asia, including strategies, priority actions and proposed activities.
