Summary
The Child and Adult Safeguards Implementation Handbook (the Handbook) is designed to provide tools to support DFAT staff and partners to meet their safeguarding obligations with respect to child protection and sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH). Staff and partners should read the Child Protection Policy and the Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) Policy prior to reading the Handbook.
The Handbook includes information on:

- assessing safeguarding risks
- the Child Protection and Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) Standards
- compliance with the policies
- what taking a victim-survivor-centred approach means
- guidance on reporting incidents
