Now in its third year touring southwest China, "The Canning Stock Route: Yiwarra Kuju" digital exhibition continues to draw audiences in Yunnan, Sichuan and Chongqing. More than 138,000 locals have seen the exhibition so far.

"Yiwarra Kuju" tells the story of the longest cattle route in the world, Western Australia's Canning Stock Route, from the perspectives of the Aboriginal people whose country it crosses between the Kimberley and markets in the south.

The exhibition raises awareness of the history and culture of Indigenous Australians in three Chinese regions rich in their own indigenous cultures.

The exhibition was first launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Julie Bishop MP on 9 November 2014 at the official opening of the Australian Consulate-General in Chengdu.

It has since been exhibited at the Yunnan Nationalities Museum, where it was shown alongside exhibitions on the heritage of Yunnan's indigenous peoples, and at the Chongqing Cultural Industry Expo, where it drew the attention of television and print media.

Now in 2016, the exhibition will return to Chengdu for November's Savour Australia culture week - a week of Australian arts, music, film and cuisine organised by Chengdu Consulate - where it will continue to inform audiences with explanations of tradition, culture and country.
