Description
The Australian Ballet is performing in two of China's most prestigious performing arts venues, the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing and the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
The Australian Ballet will present two of the company's signature works, full-scale productions of Graeme Murphy's Swan Lake and Alexei Ratmansky's Cinderella plus a triple bill that includes resident choreographer Stephen Baynes' acclaimed Unspoken Dialogues to showcase the artistry, technical excellence and versatility of our dancers.
As Australia's national ballet company, The Australian Ballet has a long history of international touring and has visited 37 countries and 87 cities since it was founded in 1962. This tour marks the company's 24th international tour and its eighth tour to China.
The Australian Ballet is delighted to return to China to represent Australia, to further deepen a long relationship with China and its many lovers of ballet, and to continue a much-valued and enriching cultural exchange.
The Australian Ballet's 2015 China Tour is supported by the Australian Government; the Victorian government through Creative Victoria; the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and tour partners Qantas, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited and Rio Tinto Diamonds.
