The CAAR will support an influential individual of Iraqi origin, under its International Speakers Program, to give the keynote address at the 2016 Iraqi Cultural Festival.

The festival has been running since 2013 and is the major event for the Iraqi-Australian community. The festival will discuss the diversity and resilience of Iraqi culture and how Iraqis (including the Iraqi diaspora) can respond to current challenges.

The project will be implemented by the Iraqi Australian University Graduates Forum and will take place on the 19 March 2016 at the Casula Powerhouse Art Centre. The festival will also include an Iraqi short film festival, musical concert and theatre performance.
