Be enthralled by drum rolls, choreographed combat, sumptuous clothing, dancing, magicians, street-wide elegant calligraphy, K-pop, Taekwondo, delicious food and scents. Experience the 2015 Lunar New Year Korea-style!
The Australia–Korea Foundation is proud to again support the Korean community to present the Sydney Koreatown Festival and deliver all the colour and excitement of Korea as part of the City of Sydney's Twilight Parade.
For possibly for the first time ever in Australia, the 2015 festival will stage the Chajeon Nori (pictured), a traditional Korean game resembling a jousting match with two commanders atop large log frames maneuvered by their teams. This is a spectacle not to be missed!
As you wander through Koreatown, be inspired by the possibilities for collaboration with Korea and consider applying for a grant through the Australia–Korea Foundation's 2015–16 grants round. It opens online on 27 February.
Best wishes for the Year of the Sheep from the Australia–Korea Foundation!
