Project Description
Australia exports a significant amount of coal to Korea and the amount of export is likely to increase in the future. Therefore the research collaboration between universities in both countries are important in order to provide better technological support to coal export industry. Built up on the existing collaborations between University of Newcastle and Pusan National University and power industry in Korea, the project aims to establish a network for R&D cooperation, co-education of HDR students and research information exchange. The main project activities will be collaborative research networking on innovative clean energy technology. It is expected that the joint research network established through this project will greatly enhance the capacity of both institutions to attract research funding from coal industries and leads to the establishment of an International Collaborative Research Centre to facilitate high quality research in both institutions.
